Belong, Believe, Become

Woodpeckers Project

Woodpeckers were relocated in September to a different classroom. They have their own outdoor area, however it was originally set up for use by much younger children.

The Woodpecker class love being outside and active.

The climbing frame in the area is much too small for them. The basketball hoop is old, too low and not sited well for the class. The outdoor house and kitchen are too small and appropriate for much younger children.

During the winter, a local business loaned the Woodpeckers a football table. This was an instant hit and just what they needed.

The ASPF was approached and asked if we could help.

Luckily, due to your support and lots of fundraising, we were in a position to help.  In the next few months Woodpeckers will see the installation of a new climbing frame. We have bought them their own outdoor football table (as the other one will need to be returned soon). A new basketball net and backboard have been purchased and mounted in a more appropriate place at the right height. We have also supplied the class with new basket balls.

We would like to be able to replace their plastic play house with a more substantial wooden one too. We will need to fundraise again for this.

Thank you for helping us give this class equipment that they truly deserve.
