Maths is everywhere, and its processes are for learning about life!


At Rocklands, our mathematics curriculum is based on the most up to date and relevant research to ensure that we deliver a curriculum that is: developmental including communication and cognition; bespoke to the individual needs of our children; reactive to their needs and grounded in knowledge based on their starting point. We aim to develop a curriculum that is based on the ‘roots of maths’ and acknowledges stages before the use of numbers, words or symbols to meet the needs of our pre-formal learners.  At Rocklands, we believe that for our children to develop they need to be responsive, exercise curiosity, become discoverers, develop anticipation, investigate problems and take problem solving on into new and wider situations.
