Wider Curriculum Offer

Rocklands offer a substantial amount of extra curricular activities. All Key Stage 2 children attend the Friary School for swimming lessons. Our Robins, Puffins, Owls and Toucans get the opportunity to attend swimming lessons at Connock Leisure Centre. All of our children also have the opportunity to go swimming when we hire a pool on site.

All classes have the opportunity to go horse riding on a rotation basis. We attend Coton House Farm and are funded by a local charity to attend Bourne Vale Farm.

The school is very lucky to have three minibuses and all classes explore the local community and beyond multiple times a term. Places we have visited have included: Drayton Manor, Shugborough Hall, National Space Museum, Tamworth Castle, The Sea Life Centre, Tropical Land and many more.

We use our Local Area Visits weekly to enrich our curriculum further. We visit shops, parks, cafes, charity shops, local churches and Lichfield Cathedral among many more locations to provide our children with real life experiences.

All Year 6 children have the chance to attend Standon Bowers for a five day residential. Year 4/5 and our SEMH class attend Beaudesert and our complex needs class has attended Bendrigg in the Lake District.

Rocklands also offer a number of clubs including STEAM (Science based), Lego, Sensory intergration, Cooking, Drumming, Choir, and a wide variety of sporting activities. These are offered on a rota basis and letters each term will be sent out.

This year we are also working with Liberty who collect our children from site at the end of the day. They offer a Thursday & Friday 'life skills' youth club after school for children aged 8 years and over.

We also work with a variety of partner, Lichfield Cathedral School on Music Share Project, Shakespeare in Schools, Cricket association and Wolverhampton University Judo school.

We also offer a Breakfast Club every day - please click below for further information.
