Enriching our Curriculum!

We are so proud to offer a  wide range of extra-curricula activities within our school; many as part of the wider curriculum.

Children in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 are offered swimming as we feel this is an imperative life-skill for our children. We also offer horse riding on a weekly basis from Key Stage 2. Children are able to access this provision on a rota basis so that we can offer this to as many children as possible.

There are  a number of lunchtime and after-school clubs here at Rocklands which run throughout the year that we offer to children working in all departments. This term (Autumn term 2 2024) we will be offering:

  • Breakfast Club (before school - all pupils)
  • Sensory Club (SI room - Toucans)
  • Sensory Circuits (Oasis hall - Robins)
  • Preparing for Adulthood (Wrens)
  • Cooking Club (Redwings & Hummingbirds)
  • S.T.E.M (Penguins)
  • Signing Choir (lunchtimes)
  • Football (lunchtimes)
  •  Drumming Club (lunchtimes)

Our school also enters inter-schools competitions throughout the year including dodge ball, netball, cricket, football and bench ball.

We have a number of specialist teachers who come in to enrich the curriculum further including: sports coaches, performing arts teachers, music specialists.  We also have accredited specialists within school who hold NPQs in EYFS, Behaviour and Maths. We have an accredited Attention Autism tutor and two accredited Forest Schools leaders so that we can offer our pupils an array of experiences.
